SENASICA, the equivalent of APHIS in the U.S. confirmed isolation of a highly pathogenic H5N2 strain in a non-commercial flock located in Huetamo in the state of Michoacan (location shown).  The small free-range group of birds was depopulated, and samples have been obtained from wild birds in the vicinity.
