Kroger Breaks Ground on Ocado Mechanised Warehouse


The Kroger Company and partner Ocado of the UK have commenced construction of the first of a projected twenty mechanized warehouses scheduled for construction over the next three years.  The first unit in Monroe, OH will extend over 335,000 square feet and will cost $55 million.


Rodney McMullen stated, “Kroger is incredibly excited to reach this meaningful milestone in our Restock Kroger vision to serve America.” He added, “Our partnership with Ocado will introduce transformative E-commerce, fulfillment and logistics technology in the U.S.”


The next two Ocado fulfillment centers will be erected in Central Florida and in a Mid-Atlantic region to be announced.
