Herbruck’s Poultry Ranch Breaks Ground on Pennsylvania Complex

06/20/2019

After a considerable delay for planning and obtaining permits, Herbruck’s Poultry Ranch has commenced construction of an aviary complex to house upwards of two million hens in Mercersburg, in Franklin County, PA.

The project will ultimately cost over $100 million and will incorporate the latest technology including a manure processing installation to convert waste to a saleable product.

In 2018, the Herbruck family celebrated the 60th anniversary of their operation established in Saranac, MI. The new complex in Mercersburg will closely resemble the Green Acres organic complex erected over a four-year period. This project include a state-of-the-art packing plant operating both in- and off-line, receiving eggs from contractors in Michigan and Indiana.

Greg Herbruck, president of Herbruck’s Poultry Ranch commented “We are excited to break ground on our Mercersburg project and we are looking forward to being part of the Franklin County community. In 2017, the ompany opened a cold storage warehouse in Chambersburg, PA to  receive eggs from the production complex and destined for distribution in the Northeast market.
