Grubhub Accused of Overcharging and Unethical Practices

At a recent New York City Council hearing, allegation were leveled against Grubhub by restaurants claiming price gouging and unethical practices involving charges for orders irrespective of whether they are fulfilled.  Numerous restaurant owner in the northeast complained of similar practices by Grubhub which generated $30 million annually on phone orders.  Grubhub imposes a charge for every phone call in excess of 45 seconds which places restaurant owners in a difficult position as many of the calls do not result in orders and many relate to delivery instructions enquiries or complaints.
