Nestle to Enter Health Supplements Market

In a departure from tradition, the company announced acquisition of Atrium Innovations headquartered in Quebec, Canada.  The transaction is valued at $2.3 billion.  Atrium manufactures natural supplements including vitamins, hypoallergenic dietary supplements under an array of brands including Douglas Laboratories®, Genestra™, Orthica® and others.

The CEO of Nestle health science Greg Behar stated, “We value Atrium’s history as a highly successful company and welcome its 1,400 employees to the Nestle family.  Their brands are a natural complement to our Consumer Care portfolio offering nutritional solutions in the area of healthy aging, growing and for obesity.
