Eggland’s Best Announces 30-Billion Egg Benchmark


In a ceremony in Washington DC on Tuesday, September 18, Eggland’s Best, a farmer-owned cooperative, announced that since inception, 30 billion eggs have been sold under the Eggland’s Best brand.

The event was attended by representatives of USDA and the Food and Drug Administration.

President and CEO of Eggland’s Best, Charlie Langtree noted “At Eggland’s Best, we hold our eggs to the strictest production and safety standards.” He added “Our 30 billionth USDA approved egg is a testament to our commitment to providing the highest quality egg possible with superior nutrition, taste and freshness.”

Eggland’s Best requires a higher level of quality than existing USDA grading standards imposed for Grade AA specifications. Eggland’s Best has a 27-point quality and freshness program and conducts 45,000 assay procedures annually to maintain standards.
